Yeah...Stormy seas...WHO Knew the "Dark Side" was not just Palpitine and his gang but a bunch of Russian Hackers...wiping out oil transportation on the Eastern Seabord...Probably the same guys who rigged the presidential election...Where is Bruce Willis when we need him...

Craziness and market selloffs has has gone together like Fred and Ginger...many times and it usually does not last very long and then morphs into boring reality..

The best example I ever saw was "Black Monday" in Oct 1987...Talk about sell offs...Computers had just been introduced to the market,,But they were mainly used for programed trading and most all orders were your broker (you were required to have a broker in 1987) you called in your buy or sell order and then the broker called the exchange, and put your order in with the "specialist"...You got what you got..

Well on Black Monday every body decided to sell (the three previous sessions were pretty rough...The market was acting like Niagra..unbelievable volume and the orders were running about three hours behind so you called your broker at ten AM your order got executed at one in the afternoon..and the price of your stock was falling all that time..

Well on that Monday I was doing a cosmetic surgery on the wife of one of the richest men in Boston...He was "Old School and came with his wife and spent the whole day in my office..There were no cel phones...

I ask him how he did the next day and he told me he was down 40 million dollars...You would have thought it was ten dollars;

The amazing thing was he did not sell a single share and a month later he was back to even...So this is one example of the lack of sticking power of crazy selling...

To this very day there have been at least a hundred would be explanations of what happened that woe be gotten day..None of them very convincing...Just craziness I guess.
