May be more of a QC requirement. Looking at RK and the lab he last managed, guess what potency testing they did? If you had a captive research team (lab) of your own, the internal testing of your infused products and edibles especially (there's the new addition imho) would be a cost saver vs outsourcing third party testing. Likewise, testing and standards for policing one's product lines as mandated by CO law for warning labels and packaged goods to be consumed is met INTERNALLY and reduces risk for the consumer. See most admired company and what is required. Uncertain what the Feds will allow as write-offs (R&D) but it seems to be a products liability issue regardless that the company is getting ahead of and as stated, imho, points to a mfg of edibles to be added or created.
