Silvr, it look like in November 2020 Perrigo (who acquired Kionex from Paddock Labs) temporarily discontinued the drug and could not estimate when the product would be manufactured again. It looks like an API shortage was creating a shortage, as CMP was using available powder to manufacture the suspension.

Published May 5, 2021 -Perrigo divested Kionex suspension and sodium polystyrene sulfonate (sorbitol-free) suspension to ANI pharmaceuticals. ANI Pharmaceuticals is not currently marketing sodium polystyrene sulfonate suspension.

Kionex sale

It is probably one of the drugs repatriating manufacturing to North America. The CEO mentioned this as a strategy for growth. I expect more such deals will follow.
