Changing plea scenario

OK for the sake of argument let's say the judge will allow her to change her plea to not guilty after accepting her guilty plea. That would surely be very negative for her scenario.

First, if she waited until the Schena trial was over, she would have already given her statement in open court for the prosecution stating that she committed the crimes she was accused of, and her testimony about Dr Schena's involvement.

If the recorded plea of guilt was then changed, she would then have to go to trial to prove HER innocence. Very tough to do when you first, gave a judge an accepted and recorded guilty plea, then went to open court and gave your testimony, and then decided to changed your plea when the Schena trial is over.

So then, during the Dr Julie trial the first question would be why you pleaded guilty, then went into open court and lied during trial. She would look foolish in front of a jury going against her own sworn statements from the Schena trial and her original guilty plea. Then most likely a perjury charge will be thrown in for good measure.

So to change her plea, she will have an expensive trial and have to explain away her own sworn statements that contradict each other. Then answer to the perjury.

Most likely the prosecution recommended probation to the judge as a result of her not having a criminal history and throwing herself immediately on the mercy of the court to assist the prosecution. Davila might ignore that and give her time anyway but if we entertain her changing pleas, she would be open to extensive prison time using her own words to convict her.

Dr Julie's day of reckoning is February 28, 2022 at 1:30 PM. If she's able to change her plea at any point now, I'll be the first to come back here and say I was very very wrong.
