For the people who initially invested in $RMTD$,a reminder

Remote Dynamics marketed, sold, and supported fleet management technologies primarily for the construction and heaving lifting industries. Viejo-based Telogis, a "cloud-based software platform that has a transformative effect on the way companies do business outside the four walls", announces they acquire Remote Dynamics on July 2, 2010.

Verizon Communications in 2012 acquires Hughes Telematics for $612 million. This deal included a on-road vehicle monitoring service called Networkfleet - which is based in San Diego - and ran on the Verizon wireless network. In 2013, Verizon announces that they will be rolling out Networkfleet's technology in its 18,000 company owned vehicles in the U.S. saying it will help to reduce carbon footprint.

In 2013, Telogis raised $93 million in venture capital financing by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm known for supporting Google and Amazon. It was thought they would consider an IPO but apparently didn't. In 2015, they signed deals with Apple and AT&T and also has agreements with Ford and General Motors.

Verizon announced an acquisition of Telogis on June 21, 2016 with the intent to "drive deeper into the connected vehicle market". Just a month and a half later on August 1, 2016, they announce Fleetmatics' acquisition for $2.4b. These acquisitions costed approximately $3.3 billion dollars.

It was later announced on June 22, 2016 that Paul Hastings LLP, a global leading law firm, began advising Telogis in its acquisition by Verizon.

On March 6, 2018, Verizon launches Verizon Connect. "A completed integration of its existing connected vehicle division with two recently acquired fleet and mobile workforce management software companies under a single, combined brand". A culmination of more than $5 billion dollars in investments. It offers customers a "one-stop approach to connected vehicle software solutions and services that help drive safety, productivity, and efficiency."

"Former brands within Verizon’s connected vehicle portfolio including Verizon Telematics, Fleetmatics and Telogis have all been rebranded as Verizon Connect."
