It’s not whether it’s legitimate or not. The SEC says it’s a Security and not a crypto currency. It’s wacked, they claim that the owners of ripple illegally sold a security since XRP is in their opinion a security which by default means anyone who bought or sold XRP committed a crime. However the SEC legal team states that the only people who sold it illegally are the owners. It’s a whacked argument!
