Yep, about 1000 cases in the Seychelles with a population of about 100,000.
About 60% of the population has been vaccinated. One third of the cases have occurred in vaccinated folks. 2/3 in nonvaccinated folks.
So 333/60000 for vaccinated and 667/40000 for nonvaccinated.
On a percentage basis:
Vaccinated 0.55%
Unvaccinated 1.67%

Interesting that Covid is 3x more likely in the unvaccinated population than in the vaccinated population. Didn't we see something similar in a different population?

It's worth noting that this population received the Sinopharm vaccine which has an efficacy rate between 50-80% compared to 94-95% for Pfizer and Moderna. Not all vaccines are equal so you might want to consider that when you look at vaccinated people contracting Covid. Also, I have not found data on severity of disease in vaccinated vs unvaccinated in the Seychelles but most vaccines have demonstrated huge reductions in severe Covid.

People who don't get vaccinated are putting themselves at risk of severe disease and increasing the risk for mild disease for vaccinated individuals. Failure to get vaccinated further increases the likelihood of mutations/variants that make current vaccines ineffective.

Please get vaccinated for your own health and for others.
Brilacidin will hopefully be an important therapeutic but in no way reduces the need for effective vaccines.
