I also truly believe that tRump stymied pfizer's offer of millions of early vaccine order because his kick backs were coming from moderna, who people should recall was one of the companies tRump backed.
Nope, I don't buy it.
Rather you start with Pfizer, and Moderna both having their eureka moment at about the same time - Jan 2020. Both finding a home for the mRNA vaccine concept. Pfizer could easily throw $5B at developing a vaccine. As in remaining independent. No glory for tRUMP. Even though tRUMP would try to claim credit, it didn't fit well into his later umbrella of "Warp speed". Where tRUMP tries to make it seem like he is heading up another Manhattan project. Moderna on the other paw needed help financially. It was a perfect fit for "Warp Speed". They get to develop their mRNA vaccine, and tRUMP's "kick back" was to claim credit as "Mr Vaccine".
Neither did tRUMP stymie Pfizer. They got EUA approval for marketing first. tRUMP was too ignorant to know how the FDA worked. Which is another case of tRUMP vs an independent branch of the government. Operating on regulations, based on past Congressional laws passed. I'd like to say he was desperate for any vaccine to be given EUA approval. Then again, not sure he even cared. Don't forget tRUMP also talked up J&J who also stuck their paw out for Federal funding, and ended up in Warped Speed.
