The process it would have to run to accommodate large buy volumes of that magnitude will blatantly show an offset of value to where either everyone sees the manipulation to where it just is silly, OR the algorithm will compensate and work in the direction of the value change. it WILL NOT be able to keep a stock at a price point.

Not being political but a prime example is the "THEORY" of the election manipulation. one could show that the algorithm could not keep up with the increase in volume and a "injection" was required to compensate for the calculation(s) the said algorithm could not keep up with.
