1 Corinthians 10:12-13
New King James Version

Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to [a]bear it.


My intention was to go to Romans, but, somehow this hi-lited passage was there before me......so....I got to reading what is written on it. A couple of things I thought was of interest.....
"When the time of testing or trial or temptation comes, the grace of God to overcome it is
immediately available to His people."

"Nor could anyone who is wholly evil be tempted; for there would be in such a person Satan, no moral element which the appeal for better, finer things could stimulate. It is man, a "son of Adam" and a potential "son of God", fashioned in the divine likeness and for fellowship with God, for co-operation with Him in the fulfillment of His divine purpose for His creation, who is subject to the lure of such temptation. There is in man that which responds to the prompting of the Spirit of God, and there is in him which is lured by evil and unworthy things."

To really give serious thought to this passage makes the mind wander to other things in the Bible.....If I may wander around a bit, sort of stir up your mind.....this came to my thinking, a subject that has always grabbed my attention....

"1 THESSALONIANS 5:23----"Now may the God of peace Himself sancitfy you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

"SOUL & SPIRIT---As I understand, many places in Scripture soul & spirit are used as the same, then in other places the are separate....Once again as I understand (from my Scofield study Bible) ----The Spirit is that which knows and is capable of God-consciousness and communication with God----The Soul is the seat of affection, desires, emotions and the will of man. -----Once again as I understand, Paul writes "that inside him is that which wants to right, yet he does wrong".......there is inside of us a battle constantly going on between doing right and doing wrong....if I may, often the wrong way wins the battle, however, if I maintain my faith, the the war is won in my favor...... I may loose a battle or 2, but winning the war is what counts......my body is buried a natural body, but raised a spiritual body, if I may, I am buried a sinful person, but raised a perfect person----of course all depending on my faith---do I believe or am I just kidding myself

Maybe some of you have not given much thought to life, death, & eternity, I know at a much younger age I had other things to think on, wine, women & song for example. I jus couldn't pass that up.
