For a fair amount of time now I have been really digging into the book of "MALACHI" and each day I learn something new, but this morning I was reading it again and in reading the words, I tried to absorb them as if this was Malachi speaking to me/us today....really making it personal, not something from 500 years before Christ and I am amazed at how true this book rings today. I feel as if I still have much to learn from Uncle Malachi so I suppose that maybe there will be a post or 2 more in the future....but anyway, if not, let me start here....

Like 500 years before Christ a guy would go to the corner and get on a soap box (so to speak) and sound off with "THUS SAYS THE LORD" and proceed to announce what the Lord has laid on his heart.
He would for all purpose be laying the people out for not following what God as laid out for their life style.

I want to keep this short, which will allow me to post future points that I found interesting..........SUPPOSE----on Sunday Morning your preacher steeped into the pulpit and sounded off with---"THUS SAYS THE LORD," then proceeded to tell the congregation how they were not doing or behaving as God has instructed them to do.... "Thus says the Lord" may be acceptable, but don't you tell me I am falling short of God's will.!!!! Let's go one step further, suppose you were in a Mall doing some shopping and you had the call to stop what you were doing and stand in the middle of the Walk-Way and announce-----THUS SAYS THE LORD------The next thing you would be hearing folks giggle as you were ushered out by those fellows in the little white coats.----coming to take me away HA!! HA!! HO!! HO!!---bet you don't remember that silly song of long ago........

Allow me to offer this, I know good and well you or I will not be going up on Broad St. and get up on a box and start out with "thus say the Lord"-----"BUT" let us say we are in the presence of a friend or mutual aquantance and we get the inside feeling to speak up in the defense of Christianity, ----Do we remain silent or do we defend the Gospel? Fair question.

I have noticed in my various Bibles that I have in the past hi-lited passages from Malachi, verses that in one way or another spoke to me. I read my Bible, I study my Bible but what has come to the forefront is that I have to live my Bible, no matter how faithful I am in reading and studying, if it does not make me a better Christian, then all is lost.

So much for a Wednesday morning thinking secession----God Bless and thank Him for giving you another day
