It will reach 60% which does NOT provide herd immunity.
Instead we will have you, and your anti-VAX ilk running around. Along with the little Freddies believing they are immune having recovered from the original wildtype virus. The potential of 40% of the population walking around as Covid incubators, passing the virus around between yourselves, and creating new variants to keep reinfecting yourself with. The resulting new infections, and deaths, all coming from this 40% pool, being a constant plateau. Except for the blaring headlines of a next wave. With the FUD generated a drain on the economy.
So how does one convince you and your ilk there is no vaccine conspiracy? That vaccines are the solution? Answer: Ya don't! Instead one needs a different approach, the MONEY approach. Each State will allow the medical insurance companies to classify anyone without proof of vaccination as high risk. Which means if you become hospitalized with Covid, you pay 80% out of pocket expenses. If you become infected with Covid, recover (Yippee!), and then have heart/kidney damage, again you get to pay 80% out of pocket expenses. And of course the insurers get to charge higher premiums for your ilk.
This solution would be right out of the Conservative playbook. It's called the individual taking personal responsibility for their health, and healthcare costs. The free market at work. I'm willing to bet, if it became financially expensive to believe in bullshit vaccine conspiracies, there would be less believers. Along with it being a good orange juice growing season.
