I just called Scottrade again and found out that what I would need to do is change the account to be a "traditional" type instead of internet, discount type it is right now. I would then be charged a higher commission ($27) instead of the current $7 and would need to phone in my trades.
I was also told that my shares right now aren't borrowed by anybody else unless I bought them on margin, which I didn't. This may have just been lip-service so I don't know if this is true or not.
