I have a complete dissertation on this topic that I presented to Ron and Barry in October of 2004. Specifically I outlined the threat of others bringing competitive implementations to market. A company must move forward in order to maintain the position as "leader." Advancement can come in various forms, but you can't expect to maintain the status quo indefinitely and still remain at the leading edge. My warning was met with a rebuttal that was based on the AV chipset coming to market in the TKO product by Q2/Q3 2005. I predicted otherwise. History has proven who was more correct.*

*more correct - even my estimate turned out to be too optimistic, and it stretched the timeline well beyond what others insisted would happen.
