Chapter 7 is liquidation and shut down of the company, period

What if a company has several other companies merged with it and assets enough to pay off debts. It still can't be taken out of 7? What if another company wants the IP rights and wants to merge with the rest of company to get them? Why is this far from over? been here years.....Thanks again for your help again
