Why do people get into conspiracy theories. We've seen enough research results to see underlying and consistent patterns.

Characteristics such as the

* need to understand

* need to build some more sense of personal control

*need to feel more secure in oneself

* need to build the feeling of more involvement

* need to feel a sense of belonging

* need to build self-image

Since most all of us have some sense of all of the above at times, there must be stronger underlying political motives and/or a relatively extreme mistrust of conventional news sources and responsible accepted truths/evidence underlying the above needs in those who end up in QAnon types of views.
