West Warwick where the Medrecycler is located, planning board unanimously approved the project.

A small percentage of the citizens of the town nearby, East Greenwich is where most of the opposition is coming from.

Between the two towns there are over 40,000 people. Of those 40,000 only six hundred have bothered to write letters to the RI-DEM.

Of those 600 leters some are for the project and some individuals against have written more than one letter using a paid representative such as lawyers or environmentalist.

Resistance has been loud but relatively small.

EPA and DOE have tested and reviewed the pyrolysis technology and have concluded it to meet US environmental standards.
