EISid18, HGEN will certainly contribute if they get their approvals, but IMO the deal is more important because of the fact that it is CDMO 2nd manufacturing deal for production (hence longer term).
We'll see other variants of COVID (IMO) and the companies that developed drug for the COVOD-19 will I think have a head start if they can deploy their new platforms. It is likely that they will then stay with the same manufacturing partners because we have seen now that time is of the essence. Having an FDA approved manufacturing line for such products will make it faster to renew that approval for, probably, small changes.
Personally I remain more HALO focused when it come to CDMO revenue because, as I posted before, the business comes from many well established BPs for their many well established and approved drugs, in combination with HALO's own already approved and in commercial use substance. And CDMO already has an FDA approved product line for that substance.
So everything is in place to rapidly move to manufacturing of more of that substance each time one of HALO's customers gets approved for their combination.
IMO this is a long term safety for CDMO because some of those BP products are out of patent protection and generics can compete. However, if they are available in combination with HALO substance, then the generics must ALSO pass the approval for the combination. And that changes everything, because the medical people will prefer the ENHANZE approach due to all advantages (mainly fast=time and comfort).
If CDMO plays this right and, as they are doing, keep making sure that they can keep up with the manufacturing capacity, then this will be a cash cow.
