I think that the intent of the government from the Day 1 takeover of the Board of Directors is extremely relevant to show a continuous intent and modus operandi by the government that their never was a plan to help the gses (they could have just provided a line of credit, if that even would have been necessary!) but was instead to Nationalize them while simultaneously keeping trillions and trillions of MBS liabilities OFF the federal governments balance sheet!
