I would remind everyone-of a ridiculous comparison

that our world is being saved by mRNA vaccines. The scientist who invented this was mocked for over 20 years and told she was a failure and her methodology was doomed.

First scientists aren't mocked for pursuing an approach. Instead they either get a research grant or not. It took until 2005 for Katalin Karikó et al to figure out how to sneak the mRNA past the immune system.

Then in 2008 BioNTech SE was founded, with funding, by another group of researchers. At first they were into various individualized cancer treatments - not involving mRNA. Their mRNA research started in 2014, after Katalin Karikó joined as a VP. PFE came calling in 2018 based on its potential for a flu vaccine. The rest per Covid is history.

So one is going to compare a bleeding edge technology in mRNA, to the antiquated Kenny Wonder chemo treatment?

While mRNA was still being researched in the academia world in the 1990s, Austrianova had completed how to make the plasmid, insert the genes, how to make the cellulose beads and in-case the altered rat cells. All by 1999. A Chemo treatment concept from the 1999 is hardly the bleeding edge of science. Using a drug already shown to be ineffective in second line pancreatic cancer.

Meanwhile mRNA progressed starting in 2014 to being a Covid vaccine in 2020. That's a 6 yr time frame for a successful product. On the bleeding edge of science. Not 22 yrs for an antiquated Kenny chemo treatment.

Anyone noticed how the advancements in immunotherapy haven’t worked yet for pancreatic cancer?

It will with a little help. And more trials are either ongoing or coming for its use. No one is working on a cellulose bead antiquated Chemo treatment other than PMCB.
