It's legit.

point being, they can liquidate your XRP and well there's not much you can do about it.

Their method of wallet insurance (BitGo) does NOT cover everyone.

Way too risky for 8% gain, when I can make 5x-500x annual return managing things myself.

Only thing I might consider is using BlockFi - convert XRP to USDC, get 8.6% interest. Your XRP is useless to trade if it's locked up with NEXO so why not take a safer route.
