Horizontal UMIAT WELLS IF they drilled UMIAT WELLS horizontally across the reservoirs they would produce 2000-3000 bopd sustained per day, and reservoir drainage volume would be increased 4X's...with less stress (drawdown) on the reservoir, less sand production, and 100 fold increase in recovered volume...also the reduced drawdown would stop gas and water from "coning" in and the wells would be much more productive over a longer period...

Horizontal wells are beneficial to reservoirs for multiple reasons:
1) They have much more surface area in the pay zone
2) Increased reservoir production rate several times over.
3) They lower the pressure drop (drawdown) as well as the fluid velocity around the wellbore, therefore reducing sand production.
4) The lower pressure drop (drawdown) also alleviates coning in of water or gas near the oil reservoir (Gas at top and Water at bottom)
5) GOC = Gas Oil Contact
6) OWC = Oil Water Contact
