So riddle me this. I just started getting into options this year. If I sell an option and it expires OTM, do I have to pay taxes on it? Or is the expiration considered closing the position?


Bankrupting the company is a short homerun because they never have to buy real shares to cover and they don't pay taxes on the ill-gotten gain.
