I have been reading a book by Billy Graham called "Angels---God's Secret Agents, this book is from back 1in 1975, and I must say a really good book to read---Today I am reading the chapter "Lucifer and the Angelic Rebellion"---towards the end of this chapter I read what I think really applies to satan at work in our Churches, like I said...."I think" :
Listen to satan's "IFS" of death being injected into the minds of people today:---"IF" you live a good life, "IF" you do what is right, "IF" you go to church, "IF" you work for the benefit of others----IF-- IF--IF. But the Bibles teaches that the IFS are not enough to meet God's requirements for salvation. Our good works and intentions are not enough. Jesus said "You must be born again." (John 3:7)
From my notes: SALVATION---The Hebrew and Greek words for Salvation imply ideas of deliverance, safety, preservation, healing, and soundness. I like to see Salvation as an umbrella and under that umbrella we find all those other words in Scripture---justification, redemption, grace, sanctification, and glorification:
None of us are perfect, we all fall short, we all stumble, fall, get all dusty, but we ask for forgiveness, pick ourselves up, knock off the dust and move on. Our perfection comes when we leave this life and enter our new life in heaven.
SALVATION is in 3 tenses:
1--The Christian has been saved from the guilt and penalty of sin in their life and they are safe.
2--The Christian is being saved from the habit and dominion of sin
3--The Christian will be saved at the Lord's return
Our salvation is by grace through faith, it is a free gift, and wholly without works-----The divine order is : first salvation, then works
When we allow "IF" to enter into our Spiritual understanding, maybe that should be a red flag and allow us to question our motives. Maybe selfish reasons allow us to say, "Well, "IF"
God Bless
