I use an investment advisor that is local here for my large cash account. He managed by FIL's finances and when he passed away in December 2019 I was stunned how the firm had managed his account throughout the years.

So once the estate was settled I moved everything over to him except for my play money.

The yield on that is 5%. Nothing sexy but I sleep at night.

My wife has a pension plan now closed through Volvo but they never rolled it to her 401K. The yield on that is 8% every year. I'd like to get a peek at the portfolio. lol

Our 2 401Ks haven't missed a beat since 2008.

I hate giving money back.
