You are correct, but I do not miss on land or water for this takes practice especially on land shooting a coconut without a 20ft , 300lb
test line.

I leave the spear gun unattached and let her fly, and stick the coconut from 50 yards away. Don't mess up for the spear could get ya. Like I said it takes practice to avoid the recoil with or without line.
