Not a single study has shown masks to provide any efficacy in mitigating community spread. The current publications are for medical masks in medical environments with proper fit, training, and mask rotation.

In addition, the natural experiment of counties with mask mandate/no mandate, as well as states with mask mandate/no mandate show similar outcomes.

Cloth masks were a mechanistic possibility... but thats it.

On the heels of hotmeat's reply, he's spot on. A virus that has a low fatality rate, coupled with the fact that nearly all deaths have been people 65+ and/or comorbidities. The data is clear here and the emotional responses need to take a step back into reality.

The virus is real, but so is the data. We all make calculated risk/benefit decisions. Some prefer to use data.
