Nope, have not missed the math, We do this everyday. With Manure you get a Carbon Credit. Manure normally goes anaerobic in lagoons and releases CH4 and CO2. CH4 is 20 times more of a green house gas as compared to CO2, so catch the methane and combust it into CO2, thereby getting a carbon credit. NO Carbon sequestered here.

So now look at organic wastes. Put them into the landfill (or AD system) and they anaerobically digest creating CH4 and CO2. Again it is either flared or captured to be combusted. NO CARBON Sequestered.

There is less petroleum based carbon used yes, but the exact same about of carbon enters the atmosphere! Less from Petroleum, it stays in the ground, and more from organic waste.

Most do not understand the carbon balance very well. It is however easy when you look at the nets.

Math is pretty good on this subject.
