Then why if the ask is .048 and I put an order in at the ask why then was it filled under the ask? It was filled under the ask because the mm didn’t want buyers to believe other buyers were willing to pay the ask price. If buyers are buying at the ask that would indicate interest in the stock at the ask price, which may contribute to more buying and an increase in share price. If on the other hand, the mm’s fill my order under the ask it leads potential buyers to believe there isn’t much interest in the stock price at the ask, causing less interest and buyers waiting for the price to go even lower. I’m by no means an expert on any of this, but it makes sense to me that this is mm manipulation. Obviously, not on a huge scale because the price difference was negligible, but manipulation nonetheless. Please correct me if I’m wrong, as I would like to hear why they just didn’t fill my order at the ask yesterday.048....
