Bible

As I often do, I just flipped open my Bible and see where I lands, sometimes there is really something there for me and other times, maybe, not so....but this morning It opened to Jeremiah 23:1----Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture ! Says the Lord.----

When I read this I got to wondering if maybe this same passage applies or could apply to our leaders here in the USA. Our country was founded upon Judeo-Christian principles. We are or were a Christian nation. I see much of the efforts to dismiss the Bible and Christian beliefs in our country today.. Things are happening which I do not understand, however I am a Bible believing person so taking that into account I have to look at Bible history over the thousands of years and how God frowns upon those who turn away from Him. Over the years many, many folks have searched the question of why America is so blessed, at one time in my life the credit for this was given to the fact that we were a God fearing nation and I think that maybe that line of thought is quickly slipping away. I said earlier that I "did not know", but as a Bible believing person I have to wonder. I wish I knew more or understood more, but even outside the faith "History has always had a way or repeating itself" and maybe only to me it appears that we are really trying hard to repeat mistakes which have been made over & over again......Maybe at 77 yrs young I am just becoming an ole fuddy-duddy, I don't know.....

A last thought, yesterday when I was doing some Bible study I ran across this : "If there is one thing we should have it is a good relationship with life. One of the principal causes of disruption in our lives is "FEAR".----We all have experienced life's pains and penalties ---anxiety about the things out of our control. no matter if it be personal, business, health, children, or nation----the blowing up of petty problems out of all proportion to their importance; loss of faith in ourselves, others and God, so that although we are professing christians, we become practicing atheists, for basically the nature of unbelief is that it fears circumstances more than the Almighty.--------Give a moments thought to "PROFESSING CHRISTIANS BUT BECOMING PRACTICING ATHEISIST"
