It is rainy, I can't do much due to back surgery restrictions so I did as I often do, I just flipped open my Bible to see where it landed, 1st it was the Lord teaching his disciples how to pray---"Our Father which art in Heaven..."---then checking notes and side references I somehow ended up in 1 Peter 2:11: "Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul",...I got to reading a bit on this from my Interpreter"s Bible, and after reading some of it, I saw this in the explanations.......It went through the Greek words for "aliens and exiles" (pilgrims)----the 2nd Greek word for aliens---means a person staying for a time in a place which is not his permanent home----a pilgrim or exile. Here both words are used figuratively of the Christian who resides on earth but whose real home is in heaven......This is a note that that the modern Christianity has largely lost. Modern Christians are so much concerned with sitting this house in order "this house of our pilgrimage" that sometimes they tend to forget their true destiny lies elsewhere. Our task is to try to hold a true balance between a this worldly and the otherworldly view.

Anyway that sort of stirred up my mind and got me to thinking much of what I hear today and I think maybe much of what I hear concerns my focus on life here on earth and very little focus on my life to come or our life in heaven.....which made me wonder if maybe our focus today is in works more than faith.

OK.....enough to get you thinking a bit.....but, when we listen to what is presented to us, is it largely works that we need to do or is largely faith..If it is faith, then the Holy Spirit will direct our actions, if the focus is us doing things (works) then we are headed in the wrong direction.

Jus a passing thought---God Bless
