What if I say I intend on buying back 1 million dollars worth of shares? But I make more revenue than expected and buy back 5 million worth of shares? Is that a lie I should be prosecuted for? Of course not! The word Intend or Intent is used so as to not lock you into something that you're not 100% sure can happen or could change in some manner!!? All CEO's word their statements carefully to protect themselves legally!
