The hoopla is at present just that---hoopla. I will have to agree that there isn't a widespread clamour for electric vehicles. Think of it this way. Once desktop computers became cheap, relatively speaking, the public's demand for them grew exponentially. Then the internet arrived and that demand went way past the roof. But the infrastructure to support the high speed transmission of data was pretty much already in place. The build out was quick. Really quick.

My laptop is on a desk next to the window where I have a view of the parking lot. Where will the charging stations be placed? Who will build them. How will they be connected to the electricity grid? The devil, as it has often been said, is in the details.

Although Elon Musk's Tesla cars lead the world in terms of sales (I could be wrong), what is that percentage compared to the total global sales of fossil fueled vehicles? An increase of just one percent a year sounds impressive, but is it? I think this is the point Toyota and most likely Honda are trying to make. It would take 40 or more years just to reach a point where half of the planet's vehicles run on batteries.

There may be other uses for electric vehicles in the future, just no personal vehicles. Public transportation. Local delivery. The best I can come up with at the moment.

I am writing a book, American Cars of 1958. Check often for the latest addition. https://investorshub.advfn.com/American-Cars-of-1958-37252/
