Why would Jake sell now? Because he can cash out $1.8 million and be done with the whole sad chapter in his life. He can take that $1.8 million, reinvest it in something he wants to do. Or, he could simply put it in dividend stocks and live off them for the rest of his life. Not everyone wants or needs $10 million or more.
