Hi Rose ...that Co has nothing to do with Shockwave medical. Shockwave medical has an FDA approved device that breaks up calcium deposits inside arteries ...allowing better deployment of stents and increased blood flow.
JL had it done on one leg after experiencing pain while walking and rotoblation ( trying to drill thru the calcium ) didn't work. He's mentioned it publicly before.
The device is based on the technology used to break up kidney stones and is gaining popularity for its ease of use ( similar to doing an angioplasty ) and safety ( better than the roto / drill technique. )

Roughly 20% of those in for PCI's ( coronary stents ) have calcified coronary plaques that interfere with the best deployment of stents . Thats one area its now being used in the US ...was already approved for this in the EU

Obviously it takes time for coronary plaques to calcify so the damage was done long before Vascepa became available to slow or reverse plaque formation .

Above is just my layman understanding ...will defer to HK and other cardiologist for clarification.
