I see it the other way around.
If they know the news is going to be bad, they drive the price up to dump their shares at a better price before data. If the news is good they drive it down to buy more at a lower price.
If i had the power to drive the price and knew what was going on thats what i would do.

Anything i say is what is right for me, and may not be right for someone else depending on circumstances, trading philosophy, risk tolerance and other factors. I don't know you well enough to give investment advice.
