National People’s Representative

The status of people’s representative are at three levels from my understanding: county or city, provincial, and national. National level representative starts with county level, then promoted to provincial level and then national level.

Being a national people’s representative is a very prestigious honor. A non-politician representatives are typically artists, athletes, scientists and engineers, entrepreneurs, each with outstanding performance in their fields, and are well connected and recognized in the society.

I don’t know exactly what Mr Yan does and what the companies behind NOHO do, but being a national people’s representative validates the legitimacy of Mr. Yan and the companies he represents in certain degree.
