Lets think about this for a minute. They want to have enough shares for acquisitions, right? Ok. Round numbers here.

A/S 200,000,000
O/S 25,000,000 (rounded up)

If they hadn't announced the R/S, this would already be at at least $5/share.

Having 175 million shares to issue would give them a value of $875 million. That would have been plenty, no?

If they wanted to reduce current shareholders ownership percentages, they could have just raised the A/S. In that case they would have still upset some but nothing like the R/S has done. The PPS would still be up in the $5 range and they would have had plenty of room to issue shares that are worth so much more than they are now.

Thoughts?
