Retail is, and always has been, in a weak position compared to those who can write calls and short untold millions of shares. It's always been that way.

The current data on GSAT, taking into account shares held by insiders and institutions/funds, implies that the tradable float is ~ 234M shares, about 46% of the float. So, as of two weeks ago, it looks like ~ every 1 in 5 tradable shares has been sold short.
