Huge Naked short position in stock is reason

I have seen this a few time over the years and it has always been related to manipulation of stock, namely Naked Short selling and it is a way for dealer/broker to slow it down and verify trade etc.

I have also been solicited by broker/dealer to contract with them to borrow my shares and agree to not sell the shares for 1 year, and they were paying like 6% back then. Same thing huge naked short position in the stock was the reason.
