ONE OF THESE 5 MANUFACTURES COULD BE NAMED ON THE NEXT OPTI P.R.! First: Samsung South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung continues to top the list with 20.9% market share. Despite an year-on-year fall of 10.4% in shipments the company managed to be on the top. The flagship S9/S9+, which launched late in the first quarter, witnessed slower than normal sales according to Samsung. Samsung claims the slowdown is due to both intensified competition at the high end and an overall sluggish smartphone market. However, the company is hopeful that with the arrival of Galaxy Note 9 it will witness an increase in sales. Second: Huawei The second entry on the list is quite surprising. Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has captured the second spot by surpassing Cupertino based tech giant Apple. With the total shipment of 54.2 million devices globally, the company has become the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. The company witnessed year-on-year growth of 40.9%, which took the market share of the company to 15.8%. In the second half, with the release of its "GPU Turbo" technology, Huawei continued to earn a good reputation. 618 promotions led to strong sales for Honor models in the online channels as the Honor brand continues to be a key driver of growth for the Chinese tech giant. Third: Apple Tech giant Apple has tumbled down to the third position in the list. The company shipped 41.2 million iPhones and showed a modest growth of 0.7% as compared with the last year shipped 41.0 million units. The company performed well in the premium segment as its most expensive iPhone X is the best seller in many of the markets. The company has 12.1% market share world wide in the second quarter. It is expected that the company might regain control of the market this fall with the launch of three next generations of iPhone models. Fourth: Xiaomi Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi sits on the fourth position in the list. Although the company is ahead of Samsung in India, but has shipped a total of 31.9 million units globally during the second quarter. The company has total market share of 9.3%. ? Fifth: Oppo The fifth position is captured by another Chinese smartphone maker -- Oppo. Oppo saw an increase of 5.1% over last year as it continued its expansion into other markets such as the Middle East & Africa. The company shipped a total of 29.4 million devices and the recent launch of Oppo Find X has also got some appreciation to the company. https://www.gadgetsnow.com/amp/slideshows/worlds-5-biggest-smartphone-companies/-worlds-5-most-biggest-smartphone-companies/photolist/65227381.cms
