Here is a site to do some research, courtesy of my brother-in-law. You may need a dictionary or translator to make the best use of. On this site you can find what names the concessions are registered in. I haven't studied it lately. I studied it about 6 months ago. Every "legal" mine is registered with the government. Much has changed in 6 months so I should go through it again for the updates.

I am pretty well satisfied that CGDF is a legitimate concern that has worked closely with and made actual filings with the Colombian government. I will not be 100% certain until I make an actual visit. There have been many companies pop up over the last year claiming to be gold mines in Colombia, but I believe the majority are scams. I don't want to name any that I believe are scams since I can't actually prove it. I'm sorry I can't make the visit now, but I have to wait til June when my son is out of school.
