Anyone else concerned that Powell is in over his head? With the economy expected to rebound strongly later this year (GDP growth of 6%+ possible). And inflation already rising at an alarming rate (and only going to get worse). How can the Fed want to keep rates at zero?? Think they've targeted their first rate hike...in 2023.
Look back to late 2018. We had the opposite problem. Think the Fed had made a couple of rate hikes. And Powell made the stupid comment that they were going to keep raising rates no matter what. Not we're going to look at the data etc...nope we're going set these rate hikes to automatic. Stock market plunged in December 2018 as a result. Powell quickly had to do a mea culpa. He didn't know what he was doing back then, and I worry he's going to make a similar gaffe this time.
