custodianship questions?

I'm wondering if any of you fine people could help me understand custodian plays a little better. Would you happen to know...

- Once custodianship is awarded, what is the average time it takes the custodian to find a R/M candidate?
- Do custodians ever abandon the shells they are awarded?
- How often do shells get acquired in custodianship and nothing ends up happening with them?

Just trying to learn more about these plays.
