The SEC can suspend companies due to concerns about the accuracy and adequacy of information they release.

$SCIE didn't release information, they were suspended because a bunch of penny stock manipulators purchased huge blocks of the stock and ran a massive pump and dump, aka potentially manipulative trading activity.

Hopefully in the coming days and weeks the buyers of massive blocks of stock get investigated and prosecuted. Those are the people you should be upset at. They are the ones who actually caused others to lose money.

The SEC was right to suspend trading in all those tickers, but it should have acted much sooner so there was a lot less harm to investors.
