It takes about a week or so to get permission to sell. If you are a BC resident, you apply to BC Securities Commission (1000$) fee. You are just selling do it should be easy. Then they send you an email to forward to your broker that it's ok. If you are an Ontario resident like me, I got BC Securities to send me an email saying it was fine to sell and they CCd IIROC. I got RBC to confirm with IIROC that it's ok and approval went through since BC (the cease implementer) had no issues. Sounds complicated but it really wasn't. I even got my 1000$ application refunded from BC. 200k profit off 1000$ 6 years ago was life changing. Good luck to all.
