Thankfully, only some have that type of surgery before their chemotherapy begins. My hope is that most benefit from Brilacidin for OM.

Does Dr Sonis see promise for Brilacidin OM in his paper?

Chemoradiation starts several weeks after surgery. Brilacidin and other therapies to try to prevent OM is concurrent with that treatment start. Some patients with oral cavity cancer can never swallow any food again, and their mouth stays painful for a long time since, for instance, they are missing parts of their tongue, palate, jaw, etc...
