CORRECTED VERSION. The average for all 4 PSL's is 81.3%.
There were 85 contestants in PSL4 (less Mr. Sheep). 76 of them are in PSL5. That is a 89.4% re-participation rate! PSL1 had a re-participation rate of 78.9%, PSL2 was 78.4%, PSL3 was 78.4%. All three are amazingly similar, but the re-participation rate from PSL4 to PSL5 is substantially better! Good job guys!
We have 3 newbies (Just4Fun, Nelson1234 {about time!} and southacresdave). Good luck to you new guys, but we don't start Freshmen at PSLU! Of course, I said the same thing immediately before PSL2 and the winner was a newbie as were 5 of the top 7 humans!! However, PSL3 was more as one would expect. Only one person in the top 37 (StyleCounciler #5) was a PSL newbie. And, PSL4 had four newbies (out of 6) in the top 40 (Bluebear #4, WillLyons #15, MasterPicker #24 and Mandjb #40).
Naturally one would wonder if the re-participation rate for PSL5 was correlated to where they finished in PSL4. There is a small correlation, but not much of one. Shown below is the first group of 10 in the final PSL4 rankings and how many of them (9) are participating in PSL5, etc. Re-participation rates by groups of 10 are based on how each group finished in the previous PSL contest.
