I agree with everything you are saying and think it's a smart and calculated approach. Pay per click can be unreliable and very expensive. This comes from my personal experience in the retail web based pet supply industry. Though it's admittedly been a few years.

SEO has changed quite a bit since then but he has always adapted well. It obviously is the golden key to success with all of the competition for attention in the exclusively web based spaces he's involved in. Spent many many hours studying algorithms/keywords to attract "spiders" back then. I have no doubt he is doing the same now. Reaching top of relevant search engine results is a complicated/costly task for sure but certainly can be financially rewarding when you earn those spots!

Been an interesting ride since the Muscleflex days, and very well aware of all the good and bad along the way since then, but feel may finally be rounding the bend in a good sustainable direction finally.
Time will tell at this point...
