Keeping expectations low is never a bad thing. Guards against being disappointed. Nothing wrong with that.

Where the trouble comes in is when EVERYTHING a company does is pushed to the side. Discredited. Ignored. Written off as insignificant. That is not realism or honesty. That is anger, frustration, maybe fear.

Building a business is not linear. Steps need to be taken. Sometimes steps back and/or to the side are required before real progress is made.

It doesn't mean progress isn't coming. The lack of more details doesn't make those that interpret data necessarily wrong and only those whose views that align with ours as right, accurate, honest.
